Center for Archaeology, Mainz

THE PROJECT

The RGZM – Roemisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum – is an internationally-active research institute for archaeology. The new centre combines three museums with a library, as well as workshops and laboratories for researchers.

The entire ground floor acts as a public platform for special exhibition and educational purposes. Each of the three museums is situated in an individual cone, which is open to the public on ground floor. The research centre is located at the sky-level, offering excellent daylight conditions and quiet workspaces for restoration work.
